Rideout family notes, 1931-1947.

Papers and notes relating to the ancestry of the Rideout family, consisting largely of lists of names (marriages, births, deaths, and the like), including photocopies of notes, mss., typewritten pages, and newspaper clippings. The Rideout family is Anglo-Saxon in origin and it is believed that the first member appeared in North America ca. 1700. The family has a long history in Maine, with its most notable member being Calais native Henry Milner Rideout, a writer and editor.
